Welcome to "go home" -- a delegation of teachers and students from Peking University to visit and exchange

In the small full season, the breeze is smooth, and the green shade and the grass are better than the flowers. On the morning of May 24th, the Institute of Cultural Heritage and Innovation of Peking University (Fuzhou) welcomed a group of foreign students from Peking University to visit the Mengyuan Scenic Area. As a project of the "Knowledge and Action Plan for International Students of Peking University", the group was led by Professor Zhao Yang, Dean of the School of Chinese Language Education of Peking University, and 19 international students from 10 countries including South Korea, Russia, France, and Japan participated.
Song Liang, assistant to the dean of Peking University Fuzhou Research Institute, and Yan Xiaoqing, director of the general office, attended the event. Song Liang extended a warm welcome to the teacher and student groups who came to inspect, and led them to visit Dreamland.
Zhao Yang, Dean of the School of Chinese Language Education of Peking University, Zeng Guangfu, Minister of Jiangxi Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Wan Jian, Director of Fuzhou Foreign Affairs Office, and teachers from Peking University’s International Students Office and international students visited Dreamland together. During the tour, Song Liang introduced the relationship between the garden architecture in the Dream Garden and the "Peony Pavilion" of Xuhe Gaoqiang, and took everyone to the iconic Peony Pavilion in the Dream Garden for a group photo.
Subsequently, the symposium was held in the office building of the Institute, and the meeting was presided over by Song Liang. At the meeting, Wan Jian, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Fuzhou City, first introduced Fuzhou’s historical characteristics and culture, and welcomed international friends to come to Fuzhou to study and promote Fuzhou stories. Song Liang gave a detailed introduction to the projects sponsored by the Institute in combination with the institute's strategic plan of "one platform positioning, three think tank functions, and five leading missions". Professor Zhao Yang highly appreciated the research institute's efforts in the inheritance and innovation of outstanding Chinese culture since its establishment, especially the achievements in academic research, talent training, cultural exchanges, project incubation and promotion of the digitalization of cultural heritage. He pointed out that Chinese civilization has a long history, and generations of promising young people have the responsibility to inherit my country's excellent traditional culture, and to make Chinese culture dazzling on the world stage in innovative forms.
An international student representative of Peking University said: "Fuzhou is a place with dreams and dramas. The trip to Fuzhou has benefited a lot. In the future, we will take practical actions to promote Fuzhou culture to our country and promote China's excellent traditional culture." Professor Zhao Yang, Dean of the School of Chinese Language Education at Peking University, emphasized: “Supporting the work of the alma mater is the unshirkable responsibility of every student at Peking University.”
This event is the first time that the Institute has welcomed international friends to visit the Institute since its establishment. It is also a manifestation of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee’s requirements for the Institute’s "Five Leading Missions". In order to promote Fuzhou, we will introduce various innovative and practical talents to help Fuzhou change lanes and overtake and make efforts to leapfrog development.
